Sue heads up Lonely Planet Television for BBC Worldwide. She is responsible for delivering Lonely Planet’s television strategy, including building Lonely Planet’s presence on television in all regions around the globe, maximizing commissions, strategic media partnerships and accelerating the development of short form digital video content to feed Lonely Planet’s digital platforms. Prior to joining Lonely Planet Sue was Vice President of Travel Channel Studios where she was responsible for developing and overseeing the production and fulfillment of original content for all of Travel Channel Media’s platforms including TV, Web, VOD, Mobile and external partner platforms. At Discovery Networks, Sue worked as an executive producer overseeing original series, specials and live events for Discovery Networks for ten years including Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, Science Channel, Military Channel, and Discovery Home Channel, specializing in lifestyle, science and military production. Sue also served as Director of Production for the launch of Military Channel and relaunch of Discovery Home Channel. Credits include: Wild China (Emmy Award Winner), Year of Adventures, Free Rein, 1000 Ultimate Experiences, Most Haunted Live, Blue Angels: A Year in the Life, Toolbelt Diva, Flip that House, Delta Company, Cookin’ in Brooklyn, and Science of the Deep. Sue accepted 3 news and documentary Emmy Awards on behalf of the BBC team for Wild China in 2009, received the 2005 Peer Award for Best Documentary for “Elle Deco: Behind the Design”. And in 2004, Sue was awarded the National Academies of Sciences top media prize for her Science of the Deep documentary “Mid Water Mysteries”.
