Co-founder and Partner Richard Propper is CEO of Solid Entertainment, an international distribution company specializing in non-fiction television programming. In addition, he is an Executive Producer for approximately 2-3 new non-fiction productions each year. In fourteen years, Solid Entertainment has become a significant source of award winning documentary programming within the international broadcast industry. Its focus has broadened to include all genres of documentaries. Solid Entertainment’s current catalog contains more than 350 non-fiction titles and has successfully licensed programming throughout the international broadcast marketplace. Recent titles represented by Solid Entertainment include: The 2007 Academy Award Nominated OPERATION HOMECOMING, PBS’s GATES OF THE ARCTIC, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC’S - MANMADE, and TLC’S OVERHAULIN’ and RIDES. Richard has completed duties as President of the International Documentary Assocation (IDA) as well as nine years on its Board of Directors. He speaks regularly at UCLA’s Department of Film & Television on the business of television.
