Executive Vice President of Production and Development

Nancy Daniels is Executive Vice President of Production and Development for the Discovery Channel.  Based in Los Angeles, Daniels recently joined the channel and now oversees all execution for the network’s programming, including such long running series as DEADLIEST CATCH and AMERICAN CHOPPER, newer hits GOLD RUSH and BERING SEA GOLD, and DEVILS RIDE and big blue chip documentaries such as FROZEN PLANET and AFRICA.  Daniels shifted to Discovery Channel from its sister network, TLC, where she served as the SVP of Production and Development since August, 2008.  While at TLC, Daniels oversaw the launch of such new diverse hits as SISTER WIVES, SARAH PALIN’S ALASKA, CAKE BOSS, the POLICEWOMEN franchise, and FOUR WEDDINGS.  At the same time, she guided the strength and resurgence of TLC’s long running hits, WHAT NOT TO WEAR, AMERICAN CHOPPER (now back under her purview at Discovery Channel), SAY YES TO THE DRESS, and LA INK.  Previously, Daniels served as Senior Vice President of Development and Production for Discovery Studios—West Coast since July 2007. As a full-service production house, Discovery Studios develops and produces original programming in any format for any platform, including multi-part series, documentaries, and short form pieces. While at Discovery Studios, Daniels managed development and production for all programming out of the LA branch, and supervised key programs for networks such as TLC, Planet Green, Discovery Health Channel, and Science Channel. Prior to Discovery Studios, Daniels was at CBS where she served as Vice President of Alternative Series Development since 2003.  In this role, she worked on CBS’s key reality properties including SURVIVOR, multiple Emmy Award winner THE AMAZING RACE, BIG BROTHER, ROCK STAR and others.
