David Frank founded Indigo Films fifteen years ago with the goal of establishing a San Francisco-Bay Area production house that focused on reality television for national audiences. Frank is an Emmy-award winning producer for the television series Secrets & Mysteries for KABC and received a CINE Golden Eagle Award for best documentary series for the A&E series Mysteries of the Bible. Indigo Films has been included for three years as part of the Real Screen Global 100 Production Companies.
Constantly on the lookout for new talent and show concepts, Frank frequently travels around the country uncovering uncommon characters or stories. The company is currently working on a number of projects, including I Almost Got Away With It for ID Network, 42 Ways to Kill Hitler for National Geographic Channel and Haunted for Travel Channel. Indigo also premiered very first documentary, The Jewish Soldiers in Blue & Gray, on PBS in April 2012. Prior to starting Indigo Films, Frank was an executive at Columbia Studios and a producer at KCET, the PBS station in Los Angeles. He started his television career as a researcher on , one of the first reality shows on TV, and holds a masters degree from UCLA. Frank is a member of the International Documentary Association.
