With the gradual demise of traditional print and network news, documentary filmmakers are rapidly becoming our generation’s news force.  Films like The Cove, Restrepo, GasLand and Off-Label have told stories that would have never been publicized otherwise.  In light of this evolution, what are the ethical responsibilities of the filmmaker, both to their subject and the audience?
